The spring equinox arrives March 20; however, don’t think that wintry weather has clocked out.
According to the Farmer’s Almanac, cold temperatures and snow flurries are not only possible but also predicted as winter passes into spring.
Thus far this winter, FA forecasts have been pretty close to the traditional 80 percent accuracy rate. As predicted, winter overall has been mild across nearly all of the country, with above-normal temperatures and below-normal snowfall the rule in most locations.
Region 11: Texas–Oklahoma forecast
As spring begins, it will be warm turning to cool, the north being mostly sunny while the south experiences showers.
April and May will be warmer than normal, with near-normal rainfall.The end of spring will bring isolated thunderstorms and jump from hot to cold weather.

Bowie, Nocona libraries wrap up summer reading this week

Local libraries wrap up their children’s summer reading programs this week.
The Bowie Public Library brings the popular Creature Teacher with all their spectacular animals for the final event on July 23 at the Bowie Community Center.
The program begins at 10 am. The children also will receive their prize books for their summer logs.
The Nocona Public Library ends its program at 10 a.m. on July 24 at the H.J. Justin Building at 100 Clay Street. The program will be “Our Own Action Heroes -” Nocona fire, police and EMTs.
