FWSO performing ‘Bond” movie music

In a musical tribute to one of the greatest spies of all time, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra performs “007: The Music of James Bond and Beyond!” March 31-April 2 in Bass Performance Hall.
Guest conductor Stuart Malina will lead the orchestra in a concert that also features vocalist Rachel York performing iconic hits from more than five decades of Bond films such “Goldfinger,” “A View to Kill,” “Moonrake,” “Live and Let Die,” and others.
In addition to music from the Bond movies, the orchestra will also play music from other noir-themed films such as “Pink Panther,” “Mission Impossible,” “From Russia with Love,” and more.
Performances are March 31 and April 1 at 7:30 p.m., and April 2 at 2 p.m. All concerts at Bass Performance Hall.

Bowie, Nocona libraries wrap up summer reading this week

Local libraries wrap up their children’s summer reading programs this week.
The Bowie Public Library brings the popular Creature Teacher with all their spectacular animals for the final event on July 23 at the Bowie Community Center.
The program begins at 10 am. The children also will receive their prize books for their summer logs.
The Nocona Public Library ends its program at 10 a.m. on July 24 at the H.J. Justin Building at 100 Clay Street. The program will be “Our Own Action Heroes -” Nocona fire, police and EMTs.
