Clubs, civic groups turn in your Guide information
Don’t miss the opportunity to include your club or civic organization in the 2017 Montague County Visitor’s and Newcomer’s Guide published in July by The Bowie News.
A form, including all the group’s contact information and other details, is inside today’s Bowie News on 4B and at: www.bowienewsonline.com.
The forms also will be available at the News office, 200 Walnut Street in Bowie and at the local chamber of commerce offices.
The deadline is 5 p.m. June 2. Information also can be emailed to: [email protected]. There is a similar advertising deadline if your group would like to take an ad in the guide, the only comprehensive visitor’s and newcomer’s guide for the greater Montague County area. It is distributed across the county and area, and remains out all year, for free.
Bowie Community Center presented a concert featuring the music country greats Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash this past Friday night.
Local libraries wrap up their children’s summer reading programs this week.
The Bowie Public Library brings the popular Creature Teacher with all their spectacular animals for the final event on July 23 at the Bowie Community Center.
The program begins at 10 am. The children also will receive their prize books for their summer logs.
The Nocona Public Library ends its program at 10 a.m. on July 24 at the H.J. Justin Building at 100 Clay Street. The program will be “Our Own Action Heroes -” Nocona fire, police and EMTs.
