Commissioners meet on Monday

Published

on

Montague County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. on Monday for its final session of October.
The agenda lists an assortment of topics for the court to consider.
The 2018 resolution for the Indigent Defense Grant program will be reviewed.
A new interlocal agreement between Montague County and Nocona General Hospital will be approved.
Last month, agreements with the City of Bowie Emergency Medical Service and Saint Jo Fire Department Ambulance Service were approved to include the new stipends provided by the county.
The county was awaiting approval of the agreement by the Nocona General Hospital Board, which operates the ambulance. Nocona EMS went from receiving $20,000 a year to $62,500 serving Nocona and Prairie Valley Independent School Districts with EMS service.
Bowie Emergency Medical Services will receive $75,000 a year across a three-year contract, while the Saint Jo Volunteer Fire Department EMS will receive $35,000, an increase of $15,000. Bowie’s stipend was $30,000.
This was the first change in stipends in about 20 years.
Commissioners will consider a resolution for the sheriff’s office to apply for an e-grant for rifle resistant vests. A bill for extermination services for an infestation of ants, mosquitoes and crickets at the sheriff’s office and jail will be presented.
Other topics on Monday agenda are: Approval of the 2017 tax rolls; memorandum of understanding with the Abilene Regional Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse; request to enter the Leonard Randolph and John Morris properties on Hopewell Road to repair drainage; road crossing for multiple roads from TARGA Pipeline; and a deposit placement agreement with Insured Cash Sweep recommended by the investment committee.
