As the new school year prepares to open Nostalgia decorated its windows to honor longtime teacher Serena Dodd who had a 49-year career in education when she retired on May 23, 1968. She came to Bowie in 1924 and spent most of the next 39 years in the first grade classrooms at South Ward School. Lanny Hunt, one of Nostalgia’s owners, and Vicki Jones created the unique display to honor Dodd who had an impact on multiple generations of students in Bowie.
