Get ready for Texoma Gives on Thursday

There will be a large number of nonprofits from Montague County that will be part of the annual Texoma Gives donation day on Sept. 12.
Giving begins at 6 a.m. on Sept. 12 and runs through 10 p.m. on Sept. 12 at: texomasgives.org. The minimum donation is $10 with no maximum.
Visit texomagives.org to find a list of all the nonprofits and their profiles. The webiste has them broken out into towns, and type of nonprofit. A debit or credit card is required for payment.
Here is a list of all the county nonprofits taking part in Texoma Gives: Friends of the Bowie Public Library, ShelterHearts, Bowie Alliance for Education and the Arts, Friends of the Bowie Animal Shelter, James K. Bruner TK Ranch, Nocona Lucky Paws, Nocona Military Heritage Plaza, Nocona Carpenter Shop Senior Citizens Center, Tales ‘N’ Trails Museum, Easy Street Shelter in Saint Jo, Montague County Crime Stoppers, Prairie Valley 4-H, Court Appointed Special Advocates of Red River, Wise Hope Shelter and Crisis Center, Charis Hills Camp, North Central Texas College Foundation, Patsy’s House, Affirming Texas Families, Rocky Road Refuge of Saint Jo and the Montague County Child Welfare Board.
Donations to Texoma Gives are tax deductible and donors will immediately receive an email confirming the donation. When you select a specific charity the give will be set aside for that group. Donations are nonrefundable.

Bowie, Nocona libraries wrap up summer reading this week

Local libraries wrap up their children’s summer reading programs this week.
The Bowie Public Library brings the popular Creature Teacher with all their spectacular animals for the final event on July 23 at the Bowie Community Center.
The program begins at 10 am. The children also will receive their prize books for their summer logs.
The Nocona Public Library ends its program at 10 a.m. on July 24 at the H.J. Justin Building at 100 Clay Street. The program will be “Our Own Action Heroes -” Nocona fire, police and EMTs.
