Helen Hightower wins May Yard of the Month

Published

on

Congratulations to Helen Hightower, 708 Lee, the May winner of The Bowie News Yard of the Month contest for spring/summer 2022.
The independent judges noted Hightower’s overall yard was very well manicured with a variety of plants and shrubs.
Residential yards nominated this month included: 509 S. Mill, 804 Sanders, 1011 Lowrie, 1100 Garlington, 800 Bennett, 813 Woodland, 507 Hall, 700 Meadow Lane, 807 Garlington, 608 Miller and 1510 Matthews. The judges also commented on the Pecan Street Cafe asking if it could be considered due to its pretty gardens, however, this contest is only for residential yards, but the judges asked for it to be mentioned.
Thanks to spring rains and sunshine, local gardeners can expect a great season of growing and we encourage everyone to submit a beautiful yard from your neighborhood.

Submit your nomination by calling 872-2247 or email editor@bowienewsonline.com.
