HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Bellevue boys dispatch Forestburg

The Bellevue boys, slotted at No. 18 in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 1A poll, went on a 19-4 run in the second quarter to take control and thump Forestburg 71-28.
Bellevue played Slidell last night in what amounts to window dressing as the Eagles appear locked in as the district champion.
“I think our defense has gotten better each game,” Bellevue head coach Colby Broussard said. “We’ve been able to get to people early and take their offense away from them. We’ve been able to shut them down.”
Bellevue’s defense translated into easy points.
“There were times we looked good defensively,” Forestburg boys coach Steve Sandusky said, “but they were just too much for us. They shot the ball well.”
