The Bowie High School volleyball team stormed out to a 2-0 lead in its district home opener against the Boyd Tuesday
But, it was unable to stop the rush of momentum for Boyd as the Lady Jackets took the final three sets.
The Lady Rabbits dropped to 0-2 in district play after the loss 10-25, 11-25, 25-20, 25-16, 15-12. Bowie is 15-13 overall.
“I thought the girls played the best volleyball of the season in the first two sets,” said head coach Jeanie Stark. “But you have to win three. When you don’t finish the job in the third, momentum tends to shift toward the other team and it’s tough to swing it back your way.”

Bowie High School’s Addy Cook (10) prepares to go up for a set from Taylor Thompson (12) during Tuesday’s district match against Boyd while Karlyn Dean looks on in the background. The Lady Rabbits had a two-set lead in the match, but lost in five. Click on the image for the complete photo. (News photo by Blake Wood)
