HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Calculated Bowie boys win

Deliberate play helped the Bowie High School boys basketball team earn a 43-35 victory in Saturday’s District 3A-9 opener at Holliday.
“It was our first district win, and first district win on the road, so those are positives,” Bowie head boys’ basketball coach Doug Boxell said. “Holliday is a tough team, and I knew it was going to be a tough ball game.”
Bowie remained undefeated in Holliday’s sparkling-new gymnasium, which is in its second year of existence.
Boxell said Bowie needs to work on its half-court game, and show a more deliberate style on offense since that’s how games are played in the postseason. Read more in The Bowie News.
