LOCAL: KNTX airing Rangers

Before the 2015 baseball season, the Texas Rangers awarded their flagship radio contract to 105.3 FM The Fan in Dallas.
The signal has been known to cut out or fade here in Montague County, and that made it more difficult for Rangers’ fans to hear their favorite team on the radio here.
So in steps KNTX 1410 AM, the local radio station that serves Bowie, Nocona and the surrounding areas.
KNTX has signed a three-year contract to broadcast all of the Rangers’ games on the station.
“It’s great,” said KNTX station owner Pam Henderson. “We think the Rangers are very popular, and we’ve added a service here in Montague County.”
Henderson said it was actually the Rangers who asked KNTX if the station was interested in broadcasting the games – because of problems reaching here, especially on portable devices.
KNTX will carry the 30-minute pre-game show and the 30-minute post-game show, with Jared Sandler serving as host of the program.
Many people prefer listening to the Rangers games on the radio since Eric Nadel serves as the announcer. Read more in the April 16 Bowie News.
