City of Bowie begins advertising for new city manager

The City of Bowie began advertising this week for a new city manager, following the resignation of Ricky Tow last Friday.
The job was posted Monday on the Texas Municipal League website, as well as with local publications. Tow’s resignation is effective Nov. 17.
Mayor Scott Davis received the letter of resignation on Friday and said he expects it will be considered at the next meeting on Nov. 7.
Tow has been city manager since April 2013. He was selected by the Gladewater City Council at its Oct. 19 meeting.
The ad for city manager publishing in The Bowie News this week states preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor or master’s degree in business, public administration or a related field. Preferred experience would include working in a city with its own electric utility.
A compensation package will be determined by experience and qualifications.
