Montague County applies for grant; closes out grant

No citizens attended a pair of public hearings Thursday evening on separate grant programs being sought and used by Montague County.
Hearing one began at 5:05 p.m. and focused on the county’s application for a Texas Community Development Block Grant for disaster relief.
Staff from the Nortex Regional Planning Commission, which is administering the application, conducted the brief hearing. The officials included Joe Cox, director of regional services, Deborah Milbern and Tina Johnson.
As with many government programs the wheels turn slowly and this grant would apply to the May 2015 flooding that damaged infrastructure across Montague County.
