The grand entry is set for 8 a.m. today, and the event will run through Saturday.
AASP&RC President U.B. Harrington said 187 riders of all ages from all over Texas and parts of New Mexico have entered the event.
The event features formation riding.
The schedule is as follows: Arena 1, Wednesday, Hitch-N-Go; Thursday, Quarter Horse Poles; Friday, Cloverleaf Barrels; Saturday, Baseball; Arena 2, Wednesday, Straightaway Barrels; Thursday, Spur; Friday, Larryette; Saturday, Flying W.
The concession stand will serve breakfast and lunch.
Herrington said the event will run until about 4 p.m. each day. There are divisions based on age and gender, he said.
The AASP&RC is a not-for-profit, family-oriented riding organization. The 40-acre facility here features stalls and RV hook-ups. It’s also the site of the group’s spring round-up, horseshow finals in September and annual convention in October.
