Bowie ISD proposes 2014 tax rate
Bowie ISD Trustees will consider a 2014 tax rate in an Aug. 29 hearing at 7:30 a.m.
Tuesday night, the board approved setting the tax rate at $1.1832 per $100 in property value, which is lower than the 2013 rate of $1.2307. Superintendent Steven Monkres said the maintenance and operation portion will remain at $1.04, while the debt service portion is reduced to .1432 cents from the 2013 rate of .1907.
