Jeannie Carpenter is currently in her second stint as head coach of the Prairie Valley volleyball team.
And Carpenter’s charges will begin the regular season with a home game against Savoy on Aug. 12.
“They beat us both times last year,” Carpenter said, “and they had several seniors on their team.”
Also during the opening week, the Bulldogs made a late change to the schedule and they will now be competing in the Bryson Tournament. Forestburg will also participate in this event, scheduled for Aug. 14-16.
The following week from Aug. 21-23, Prairie Valley, Forestburg, Gold-Burg and Saint Jo will all be in the mix at the Chico Tournament.
The Bulldogs will take on Texoma Christian, a member of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS), for the first time at home on Aug. 26. Prairie Valley also plays at Harvest Christian, another TAPPS school, on Sept. 9.
Carpenter said coming up with the schedule proves a challenge, and the Bulldogs will also play a home triangular against Harrold and the Storm, a homeschooled squad from Gainesville, on Aug. 19. Read more and see a schedule in the weekend edition of The Bowie News.
