The Bowie High School volleyball team found itself down 16-13 in the fourth set of Tuesday’s match against Krum at BHS gymnasium.
Then Taylor Thompson happened.
Thompson’s jump serve keyed a run of eight successive points as the Lady Rabbits eventually prevailed over Krum by scores of 25-23, 25-22, 21-25 and 25-17.
“We were strong in set one and set two, then the intensity level dropped off and legs seemed to get heavy in set three, we were able to regroup and finish the job in four,” Bowie head coach Jeanie Stark said.
“It is never a good idea to go five sets when you have won the first two – the momentum is too strong from the opponent winning the previous two.”
Stark lauded Thompson’s performance, which included one ace on her jump serve to go with 19 assists and a season-high 10 digs.
