Henrietta tops Bowie in 3A district opener
For district openers, things didn’t go quite as planned for the Bowie High School volleyball team in its match at Henrietta on Friday.
The Lady Rabbits suffered a four-set loss to Henrietta by scores of 25-13, 26-24, 18-25, 25-18.
“Our hitting efficiency was weak,” Bowie head coach Jeanie Stark said. “It seemed like we were unusually nervous the first set. We didn’t have enough offense, and our blocking was off throughout the match.”
The Lady Rabbits committed too many unforced errors in the first set, Stark added.
Bowie stood at 15-12, 0-1, heading into it district home opener on Tuesday against Boyd, a team it defeated during the “Buckle Up For Lane’s Sake” Tournament on Sept. 6. Read more in the mid-week edition of The Bowie News.
