AREA VOLLEYBALL: Lady Horns stay in playoff race

The Forestburg High School volleyball team knows every win is important right now.
The Lady Horns continued their push for a District 2A-10 playoff spot – improving their record to 19-11, 5-3 in the district – after a straight-set victory by the scores of 25-10, 25-6, 25-6.
“I feel like we could have done better,” said Lady Bears coach Lyndsey Shaw. “We weren’t very focused on the game.”
“They performed well,” said Lady Horns coach Rosana Barbosa. “They entered the game motivated, which helped. They served well and only had a few fixable mistakes.”
It appeared at times throughout the game both teams had an issue with the ball bouncing from the ceiling, something Shaw acknowledges.
“Well the thing is, we work on that in practices,” Shaw said. “We run drills to prepare ourselves for that. Like I said, we just didn’t focus really well in the game. It caught us off guard.
“Forestburg has some good hitters,” Shaw said. “They did a good job finding our weak spots and hitting them.”
