CROSS COUNTRY: Patrick wins Saint Jo Invite

The Saint Jo Independent School District had its cross country meet on Sept. 27 at Boggess Park in Saint Jo.
Sarah Patrick won the girls’ two-mile race in a time of 14 minutes, 10 seconds, one second faster than Bellevue’s Emily Trail.
Devon Cassetty from Bellevue was fifth (14:30), finishing seven seconds ahead of teammate Madi Eckeberger.
Samantha Reynolds from Forestburg was eighth, in a time of 14:49.
Coletta Holland from Saint Jo rounded out the top-10 girls’ performances in 14:58, eight seconds faster than Panther teammate Caitlyn Holley.
Alexia Root was the fastest Prairie Valley runner (15th, 15:32).
Tioga’s Justin Rodriguez smoked the competition in the boys’ three-mile race, clocking in at 18:30, 34 seconds faster than Gabriel Garza (19:04).
Kyle Waller was third in 19:09, followed by fourth-place Skylar Sandusky (19:27) and Jakdo Watkins in fifth in a time of 20:02. Read more cross country results in the weekend Bowie News.
