INDOOR FOOTBALL: Nighthawks reveal 2015 schedule

The Wichita Falls Nighthawks, which will transition from outdoor football to the indoor game, has established its 2015 schedule.
The Nighthawks, a member of the Indoor Football League, will play their games on new turf at Kay Yeager Coliseum.
The home opener is set for 7 p.m. on March 14, 2015, against the Nebraska Danger – the closest opponent on the schedule – in Grand Island, Ne., 575 miles one way.
The team will officially open the season on March 1, 2015, against the Colorado Ice in Fort Collins, Co.
The Nighthawks will play seven home and seven away games as part of their 14-game slate.
The team will take on the Ice four times, Danger three teams and face four of its seven opponents twice. Read more in the mid-week Bowie News, including a complete season schedule.

Prairie Valley Sports Awards

Prairie Valley hosted its high school awards banquet on May 9. The O.C. Mann Award went to Josh Stout and Linzie Priddy.

Gold-Burg High School hosted its awards banquet on May 22. The Gold-Burg Iron Bear Awards went to Eli Freeland-White for boy athlete and Hallie Nelson for girl athlete.

Richey headed to National Finals

Bowie’s Cason Richey (right) and his horse Hello Lashes, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo this month. Richey competes in team roping as a part of the Texas Tech University rodeo team as a freshman. The CNFR is scheduled for June 15-21 at Casper, WY.
