YOUTH FOOTBALL: Bowie East midgets wallop Quanah

The Bowie East midget football team had little difficulty winning its Top of Texas quarterfinal game on Saturday, defeating Quanah 30-8 at Jackrabbit Stadium.
Midget football is played by boys ages 10-12.
Bowie East improved to 8-1.
The team will play Windthorst at City View on Saturday with kickoff set for 3 p.m.
Hunter Pullen rushed 20 yards for Bowie’s first touchdown – set up by an earlier 20-yard pass play involving Fisher Pullen and Ty Harris.
Harris also scampered on a pair of 30-yard TDs and returned a fumble 45 yards for yet another score.
Devin Melton and Mason Reed both caught two-point conversion passes. Fisher Pullen added a conversion run, too.
Head coach Kevin Pullen said Brae Ogle and Austin Cox were standouts on defense, forcing many Quanah fumbles. Jaxon Perry was also a standout on offense at center and defense as a defensive tackle.
