HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL: Graford muzzles Prairie Valley

Under now second-year head coach Jack Williams, the Prairie Valley boys’ basketball team has made strides.
The Bulldogs have already accomplished something they didn’t during the 2013-14 campaign: Getting a win. In fact, Prairie Valley has already racked up three victories this season.
But, on Tuesday in non-district action, Prairie Valley faced the daunting task of playing Graford, which is currently ranked fifth in Conference 1A according to the latest Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll.
“They are a very athletic and very developed basketball team,” Williams said.
Williams was impressed Graford went 18-of-19 at the free-throw line, and with the Jackrabbits’ defensive presence.
“They defend jump passes well, and they anticipated our movements,” Williams added. “It’s very hard to play someone like that.”
With Graford playing so well on defense, that only amplified Prairie Valley’s biggest weakness thus far this season. What is that weakness? It has to be turnovers. Read more, and see the complete box score, in the weekend Bowie News.
