HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL: Jackrabbits hop past No. 6 Peaster on road

Published

The Bowie High School boys’ basketball team had a chance to prove it was among the elite schools in Conference 3A Tuesday at Peaster.
The Jackrabbits did just that as they defeated Peaster, ranked No. 6 in the latest Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 3A poll, in a 60-59 overtime thriller.
Bowie outscored Peaster 9-8 in the extra frame.
For Chase Hall, 13 was a lucky number as he tossed in 13 points to go with 13 rebounds for a double-double.
Cooper Cantwell, Zeke Vaughan and Gary Mosely also scored in double digits.
The Jackrabbits were 11-of-15 from the free-throw line, capping off a strong performance against one of the top programs in this conference.
Bowie returned home for a game on Friday against Iowa Park, the second meeting between the schools this season. Read more, and see the complete box score, in the weekend Bowie News in print and with your electronic subscription.
