Watkins brings lifetime of poetry into her first book

Through these opening lines of “Destiny,” a poem in the first book of poetry published by Sharon Mershon Watkins, this rookie author defines what she has poured on the handwritten page for a lifetime. At the age of 72 she is sharing those words not only with her family, but the world.

“Inside Out,” was released this month and launched with a book signing at Bowie Public Library on Dec. 11.
