Lady Indians defeat Hawley, 3-0
State rankings are a nice thing … if you show you deserve it.
Nocona and Hawley came into their Nov. 4 area round volleyball matchup both ranked in the top three in Class 2A Division I. Little more than an hour later, No.3 Nocona had shown it deserved its ranking with a 3-0 (25-22,25-19, 25-17) victory over No.2 Hawley before a good crowd at Brock High.
The Lady Indians up their record to 32-12 with the Lady ‘Cats having their season ended at 31-9. Nocona Coach Sandy Langford said her squad made some defensive adjustments against Hawley. “We made a lot of changes. We moved in defensively (closer to the net),” Langford noted. “From this level on, you have to make adjustments because everyone is going to be good.”
