The Bowie High School girls’ basketball team, ranked 14th in the latest Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Conference 3A poll, continued to have its way with district opponents.
Bowie had little trouble turning back Jacksboro 62-16 in District 3A-9 play Tuesday. The Lady Rabbits improved to 19-5, 6-0 in 3A-9.
“The team played well,” said head girls’ basketball coach Colby Davis-Pastusek. “I liked the defensive execution.”
Much of the same occurred for the Lady Rabbits again.
The defense remained a wall, holding the opponent to single-digit scoring in each quarter, and the offense scored at will.
“They shot the ball well, especially in the first half,” the coach said.
By the end of the first quarter, the Lady Rabbits had already established an 18-2 lead.
The team was again led in scoring by Courtney Brady, who scored 17 points, adding eight rebounds, two assists and four steals. Addy Cook was close behind with 15 points, seven rebounds, two assists, five steals and a block.
