HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: Bowie, Saint Jo release track slates

The Bowie and Saint Jo High School track and field teams have released schedules for the upcoming 2015 season.
Bowie’s season will begin at City View on Feb. 26.
The Rabbits also are scheduled for meets at Nocona (March 5), Iowa Park (March 12), the Possum Kingdom Relays in Graham (March 21), Jacksboro (March 26) and the home meet here in Bowie (March 30).
The District 3A-9 meet is set for April 6 and 9 at Jacksboro. The area meet will follow with the regional meet set for Whitehouse, Texas, on May 1-2.
Colby Davis-Pastusek coaches the Bowie girls and Daylon West the boys.
Chad Tallon is the head boys’ and girls’ track and field coach at Saint Jo.
The season begins on Feb. 26 at Paradise, followed by Nocona, Era (March 12), Valley View (March 26) and Muenster (April 2).
The area meet is set for Ponder on April 18, and the regional meet in Stephenville on May 1-2.
The University Interscholastic League state meet is set for May 14-16 at the University of Texas in Austin.

Prairie Valley Sports Awards

Prairie Valley hosted its high school awards banquet on May 9. The O.C. Mann Award went to Josh Stout and Linzie Priddy.

Gold-Burg Sports Banquet

Gold-Burg High School hosted its awards banquet on May 22. The Gold-Burg Iron Bear Awards went to Eli Freeland-White for boy athlete and Hallie Nelson for girl athlete.

Richey headed to National Finals

Bowie’s Cason Richey (right) and his horse Hello Lashes, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo this month. Richey competes in team roping as a part of the Texas Tech University rodeo team as a freshman. The CNFR is scheduled for June 15-21 at Casper, WY.
