Push for tourism, pursuit of new business drives 2015’s work

Montague County goes into the new year amidst a whirl of dust and gravel as road repairs are taking place across the county thanks to $2.6 million in state funding.

The County Transportation Infrastructure Fund grant program goes to make road repairs directly resulting from energy production.

City of Bowie continues to ponder where and if it will build a new municipal complex, while pursuing improvements to its utility infrastructure. Nocona looks to use the momentum it has made thanks to downtown renovations and successful events to draw new business. And Saint Jo also is working on infrastructure. Montague County Grand Jury issues November indicted cases

The following indictments were filed with the 97th District Clerk following the November session of the Montague County Grand Jury.
There were a total of 13 indictments with one sealed awaiting the arrest of a suspect.
A grand jury indictment is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

New transformer arrives at Bowie substation

The new transformer was placed on its pad when it arrived at the City of Bowie electrical substation last Friday. Installation of this 20 Mva transformer, which is larger than the two 1992 original 12.5 units, will begin this week and come on line early in the new year. (Courtesy photos)
