Bowie City Council will meet Tuesday

The Bowie City Council faces a brief agenda of business when it meets at 6 p.m. on April 21.
Councilor Arlene Bishop will submit her resignation due to a move out of her district. With one year remaining on her term, the council is expected to appoint someone to fill the vacancy.
City officials will consider an indemnity agreement between Bowie and the Bowie Chamber of Commerce related to the World’s Largest Bowie Knife sculpture. This agreement outlines the responsibility of all parties.
Construction of the Bowie Knife is expected to begin very soon as engineering plans are finalized.
The knife will be located at the southern end of the Pelham Park soccer fields.
The parks board will submit a recommendation in regard to the construction of a pavilion at Kiwanis Park.
