Belt remained jailed as of Friday
An 18-year Bowie man was arrested Thursday in connection with the July 4th aggravated sexual assault of a 15-year-old female.
Assistant Police Chief Kent Staff said Joshua Tyler Belt, was arrested and charged with a complaint of aggravated sexual assault. This is a first degree felony. Bond was set at $100,000.
Stagg said investigators believe this was a “date rape” situation.
“The incident occurred at a friend’s house during a party. She received numerous injuries to her body during the incident, for which she received medical treatment.
As of Friday, Belt remained in the Montague County Jail.
