RODEO: Forestburg event less than one month away

The Forestburg Rodeo – also known as the Biggest Little Rodeo in Texas – will take place Aug. 7 and 8.
The event will begin with mutton bustin’ both nights at 8 p.m., followed by rodeo at 8:30 p.m.
The rodeo takes place in conjunction with the 35th annual Watermelon Festival set for Aug. 8.
There is $4,300 added money, $500 per event and $300 for junior barrels.
The following events will be contested: Saddle bronc, ranch bronc, bull riding, calf roping, senior barrels, team roping, double mugging, junior barrels and breakaway roping.
All events have a $50 entry fee, with junior barrels $30.
The books will open from 5-10 p.m. on Aug. 3.
The Big L Rodeo Company of Rubottom, Okla., will be the stock contractor once again. The Forestburg Riding Club drill team will put on a nightly performance.
The admission cost is $8 for adults and $6 for children. A dance follows competition on Aug. 8.
There will be a concession stand available.
