New Bowie Police software goes live; hopes to streamline operations

Published

on

The Bowie Police Department has gone live with its new Criminal Research Information Management and Evaluation System.

CRIMES is the first management software for the police department in 21 years, and while the changeover has been trying as officers and dispatch personnel learn the ropes, officials are happy to be in the 21st century.

This change has been the works for the past few years as the department purchased three new servers last year to handle the upgrade. Laptop computers also had already been purchased and were ready to go into service in the patrol cars. Read the full story in the weekend News.
