Community Thanksgiving events planned

The Bowie Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 26 at First United Methodist Church.

Delivery and take-out orders will be taken through noon on Nov. 25. Call 872-3384. There is no charge.

Other events include:

Nocona Senior Citizens Center, noon, Nov. 19. Lunch is $8 per person, $4 for children 12 and under, free to those four and under. Call 825-3148 to make a reservation.

Saint Jo Community Thanksgiving Dinner, noon, Nov. 19 in the civic center. Please bring side dishes. Meat and drinks provided.

Forestburg Community Thanksgiving dinner, 6:30 p.m., Nov. 19 at the Forestburg Community Center. Bring a side dish or a dessert. Meat and drinks provided.

Nocona Community Thanksgiving dinner, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nov. 26, Veranda Inn. No charge. Take-out available.

Bowie, Nocona libraries wrap up summer reading this week

Local libraries wrap up their children’s summer reading programs this week.
The Bowie Public Library brings the popular Creature Teacher with all their spectacular animals for the final event on July 23 at the Bowie Community Center.
The program begins at 10 am. The children also will receive their prize books for their summer logs.
The Nocona Public Library ends its program at 10 a.m. on July 24 at the H.J. Justin Building at 100 Clay Street. The program will be “Our Own Action Heroes -” Nocona fire, police and EMTs.
