HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Bowie girls top Lipan

The prevailing thought was Tuesday’s game between the Conference 3A ranked Bowie girls’ basketball team and Conference 1A No. 1 Lipan would be tightly contested.
Such drama never materialized; however, as Bowie scored 13 of the first 15 points of the contest en route to a comfortable 66-44 victory.
Bowie, ranked sixth in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll and 10th in the Texas Girls Coaches Association poll, played stingy defense to win.
The Lady Rabbits stand at 10-4. They are on break until the District 3A-9 opener at home versus Boyd on Dec. 15.
“I was pleased with our press tonight, and our ability to share the basketball,” said Bowie head coach Colby Davis-Pastusek.
Because the Lady Rabbit defense was so effective, it made the offense run all the more smoothly.
“We did an excellent job of finding the open player and finishing shots,” Davis-Pastusek added. “Our press frustrated them early, and helped our offense get going.” Read more in The Bowie News.
