HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Indians power past Huckabay

The Nocona High School boys’ basketball team outscored Huckabay 22-9 in the opening quarter en route to a 71-51 victory on Thursday at the Mesquite Pit Tournament in Poolville.
Nocona steadily built its lead throughout the rest of the game.
Kameron Hill tossed in a team-best 27 points, including 11-of-18 from the field and four 3-pointers. Cade Breeze posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Riley McCasland distributed eight assists, and he helped Nocona run its offense well – to the tune of 27-of-49 shooting from the field (55 percent).
Nocona improved to 7-5 overall heading into its next pool-play game versus Petrolia, who defeated the Indians on Nov. 24. Read more in The Bowie News.

Richey headed to National Finals

Bowie’s Cason Richey (right) and his horse Hello Lashes, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo this month. Richey competes in team roping as a part of the Texas Tech University rodeo team as a freshman. The CNFR is scheduled for June 15-21 at Casper, WY.
