Firefighters keep busy with grass fires
Saint Jo Volunteer Fire Department responded to this large blaze at Jim Ned and Mallard Roads on Wednesday afternoon. Numerous area departments assisted. Bowie Rural and Sunset VFDs also responded to a grass fire on Fruitland Road Wednesday. Firefighters have been called to many grass fires this week and they encourage residents to be cautious when doing any burning as the high winds and dry conditions can quickly create an out of control fire.
