HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Seniors are sparks

For the Bowie High School girls’ basketball team to entertain visions of San Antonio, Courtney Brady and River Romine will need to deliver.
In a Conference 3A bi-district game at Denton High School, Brady and Romine both tallied 15 points as the Lady Rabbits downed Whitesboro 50-42.
“The more we score the more we help the team,” said Romine, who will play for Fort Lewis State in Colorado next year.
Brady said it was simply a matter of working the ball around for a good shot.
“I think in the first half we were forcing shots,” said Brady, headed to Southeastern Oklahoma State for the 2016-17 campaign. “We were able to get the shots we wanted in the second half. We knew we had to work the ball around more.” Read more, and see the complete box score, in the Feb. 17 Bowie News.
