The Nocona High School baseball team wrapped up the Nokona Gloves Tournament by splitting games on Friday and Saturday.
The Indians defeated Petrolia 14-7 and followed that with a 10-9 come-from-behind victory over Tioga on Friday.
Nocona wasn’t as fortunate on Saturday as the Indians dropped a pair of games to more talented sides, falling to Muenster 7-4 and then Lindsay 11-1. The team stands at 3-2.

Nocona 14, Petrolia 7
Montgomery Presley was a spotless 3-for-3 and Kameron Hill and Charles Evans both doubled as Nocona recorded a seven-run victory over Petrolia.

Nocona 10, Tioga 9
Charles Evans singled to score Robert Hawkins with the game-winning run in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Muenster 7, Nocona 4
Nocona’s rally in the sixth inning was cut short, as the Indians suffered their first loss of the season.

Lindsay 11, Nocona 1
Nocona tallied just one run against Lindsay in the tournament finale as Kameron Hill went 1-for-2 with a run scored. Robert Hawkins took the loss.

The new press box was by the Southern Bleacher Company out of Graham. Athletic Director Black Crutsinger said they looked at a lot of press boxes and decided they liked the one at Lindsay High School and went with that model. Sean Hutson operated the crane from the Hurd Crane Service that put the press box up for Nocona.
