HIGH SCHOOL GOLF: District 3A-9 golf Wednesday

Bowie and Nocona High Schools will be competing in the District 3A-9 golf tournament set for 10 a.m. at River Creek Golf Club.
The course is located in rural Wichita Falls.
Last year, the Nocona girls and Bowie’s Chloe Polk advanced from the district meet to play at the regional tournament.
Once again the Conference 3A Region 2 tournament will take place at Peachtree and Oakhurst, a pair of courses in Bullard, a suburb of Tyler.
Bowie’s varsity girls are as follows: Kylie Robinson, Tessla Brewer, Valerie Walker, Gabrielle Sakel and Polk.
The Bowie boys’ team features Sam Cole, Trent Parr, Spenser Meekins, Kason Spikes and Logan Boyd.
Nocona’s girls’ squad this year has Kalyn Crow, Angel Rhudy, Kinley LaMar and Keali LaMar. Crow and Rhudy both played at the regional meet last year.
The Indian boys are as follows: Jake Dingler, Hunter Fenoglio, Carter Lemon, Parker Marshall, Jake Rhyne and Brayden Skinner. Read more in the March 26 Bowie News.

Prairie Valley Sports Awards

Prairie Valley hosted its high school awards banquet on May 9. The O.C. Mann Award went to Josh Stout and Linzie Priddy.

Gold-Burg Sports Banquet

Gold-Burg High School hosted its awards banquet on May 22. The Gold-Burg Iron Bear Awards went to Eli Freeland-White for boy athlete and Hallie Nelson for girl athlete.

Richey headed to National Finals

Bowie’s Cason Richey (right) and his horse Hello Lashes, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo this month. Richey competes in team roping as a part of the Texas Tech University rodeo team as a freshman. The CNFR is scheduled for June 15-21 at Casper, WY.
