TRACK AND FIELD: Locals run at Grundy meet

The complete Forestburg and Saint Jo track and field teams and Prairie Valley’s boys competed at the Bob Grundy Invitational in Era on Thursday.
The meet was reduced to running events only.
In the varsity boys, Forestburg was fourth in the 400-meter relay with a time of 48.42 seconds while Prairie Valley was sixth.
The Longhorn relay foursome featured Bear Osteen, Stevie Carroll, J.D. Moore and Skyler Sandusky. In addition, Sandusky also placed fifth in the 400 run, clocking in at 55.99.
The Prairie Valley quartet was Alec Ducharme, Shane Roof, Dakota McClain and Lane Roof.
On the girls’ side, Saint Jo’s 400 relay consisting of Sarah Patrick, Alyssa Hennessey, Destiny Diaz and Charity Brawner was sixth (56.19). Read more in the March 16 Bowie News.

Richey headed to National Finals

Bowie’s Cason Richey (right) and his horse Hello Lashes, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo this month. Richey competes in team roping as a part of the Texas Tech University rodeo team as a freshman. The CNFR is scheduled for June 15-21 at Casper, WY.
