Bowie Police narrow burglary suspects; four jailed

During the past 45 days the City of Bowie has experienced on average one burglary or theft a day.
It is a phase the Bowie Police hope to resolve quickly as they have made four arrests, identified “half a dozen” persons of interest and are preparing additional arrest warrants.
Detective Bob Blackburn explains the burglaries and thefts have occurred across the community at homes, vehicles and storage buildings.
“When the economy goes down you will see an increase in this type of crime as well as when the weather gets warmer,” said Chief Guy Green. “I understand there are similar incidents out in the county.”
As the investigation moves forward, police have determined the suspects appear to be a group of five or six people. The incidents are occurring during the day and at night with no particular pattern.
