GOLF: State tournaments are ongoing

Like last year, the Jacksboro High School girls’ golf team has qualified for the University Interscholastic League state tournament.
The tournament will take place at Grey Rock, which runs 5,215 yards and a par-72 for the girls, with the first round today and the final round on Thursday, April 28.
Jacksboro features the following girls: Bayley Richardson, Natalee Sanchez, Taylor Nichols, Rylee Staley and Lexi Burnett.
The Tigerettes placed second at the Conference 3A Region 2 meet on April 11-12, finishing with a two-day score of 713.
Bowie’s Chloe Polk finished five strokes away from qualifying for state. Read the April 27 Bowie News for the rest of this golf notebook.

Bowie’s Cason Richey (right) and his horse Hello Lashes, qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo this month. Richey competes in team roping as a part of the Texas Tech University rodeo team as a freshman. The CNFR is scheduled for June 15-21 at Casper, WY.
