HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Bowie 24th in 3A polling

The Bowie High School baseball team finally received its first rankings this week, including 24th spot in the txhighschoolbaseball.com Conference 3A poll.
Before Monday’s game against Henrietta, Bowie stood 16-7-1, and a perfect 10-0 mark in District 3A-9 games.
The Jackrabbits also received votes in the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association poll, which was released on April 14.
West leads the Conference 3A .com poll with a record of 19-2, and Van Alstyne also sits in the top-5 at No. 4. Shallowater is second.
Other rated teams of note are Jim Ned seventh, Farmersville ninth, Wall 10th, Gunter 13th, Brock 16th, Palmer 19th and Clyde 22nd. Bowie and Palmer played in the postseason during the 2015 campaign.
Chico (20-0-1) is No. 6 and Lindsay (18-1-1) seventh in the Conference 2A poll. Muenster and Windthorst also are ranked in the top-25. Read more in the April 20 Bowie News.
