Bowie City Council considers street repair bid, new truck

The Bowie City Council will meet at 6 p.m. June 7 in regular session addressing several new items of business.
Bids on a street improvement project for paving 1.8 miles os tree will be reviewed. Only one bid was received despite nine companies expressing interest.
Also related to streets, the council will consider purchasing a distributor truck, which lays down the liquid material that goes on the road base prior to the rock.
The 2016-17 Montague County Tax Appraisal District budget will be presented, along with its annual audit. The city also will receive the revised and restated 2015 financial audit for Bowie, and consider two recommendations from the planning commission for property replats.
An executive session is planned to discuss real property related to project #2016LST.
In old business, the second reading of an ordinance for the negotiated settlement between the Atmos Cities Steering Committee and ATMOS Energy will be offered for a vote, along with a proposal related to the operation of vendors and solicitors, and food truck vendors.
The meeting opens with a workshop where the main agenda items will be reviewed, items of interests by the council and the city manger’s report.
