Ricky Howard to face first of three firearms charges before judge

Ricky Dale Howard, 54, Nocona, will face a trial before the judge in late June to face one of three felony charges for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. However, the district attorney does not anticipate the aggravated sexual assault of a child charges will go to trial this year.
District Attorney Paige Williams said Howard, who waived his right to a jury trial last December, will be tried before District Judge Jack McGaughey on June 29-30 and July 1. The schedule was set following consultation with the DA and Howard’s attorney Robert Estrada, Wichita Falls.
Howard was charged with three complaints of unlawful possession of a firearm stemming from an incident in 2015; however, Williams said she anticipates trying those one at a time. Read the full story in the mid-week News.
