On Aug. 10, Montague County area churches will be sponsoring “Hymns for the Hungry” at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8789 in Bowie.

Everyone is invited to attend this event which benefits God’s Table, a food mission of First Free Will Baptist Church of Bowie. The program will be from 6 to 8 p.m.

Through its food mission, the church is feeding anywhere from 25 to 40 people each night, which requires a stocked pantry.

Hot dogs, chips, cookies and drinks will be served that night, and there also will be a cake auction. Admission is $1.

Canned goods and monetary donations also will be accepted.

Organizers are seeking churches to sign up for a singing slot during the evening to perform two to three songs each. A sound system, speakers, microphones, drums and keyboard will be provided.

Bring your friends to enjoythe music, praising God and enjoying each other’s fellowship.

For information and to sign up to sing call Jarae Scruggs at 841-1212 or First United Methodist Church of Bowie at 872-3384
