REGIONAL: Annual Decatur washer pitching tournament July 26

Reunion begins next week, and one of the more popular events takes place on July 26.
Yes, it’s time for the “Put Yo Money Where Yo Mouth Is” Wise County Reunion washer pitching tournament.
Registration will start on the reunion grounds at Joe Wheeler Park at 5 p.m., closing at 6:45 p.m., and the event begins at 7 p.m.
This Guinness World Record-holding event serves as a fundraiser for the Decatur Chamber of Commerce.
The entry fee is $25 per person; or $50 per team, in this double-elimination formatted tournament.
Washer boards will be single-holed ones. Each board will be 21 feet apart. Two-person teams will pitch from opposite ends.
The first team to reach 21 points ore more wins the game. But, the one team can throw its remaining washers to cancel out points from their opponents. The “bust rule” doesn’t apply.
Teams must show up to their board three minutes within being called.
For information, log onto the website: Decaturtx.com or call the Decatur Chamber of Commerce at 1-940-627-3107.
