The Benjamin Lady Mustangs swept Gold-Burg in three games when the teams faced off Aug. 26.
The Lady Bears were defeated 25-15, 25-21, 25-20 as they struggled to get a ball past the visiting team.
“Our team played well, but we could not get anything by them,” said Gold-Burg head coach Cheryl Cromleigh. “They got to everything.”
Benjamin brought a strong team who has played together since they were little, including a tall hitter who had the ability to play from every position.
Gold-Burg improved on their serving in the game against the Lady Mustangs with a total of 18 aces. Hannah Franklin provided six of those, with Haley Davis adding five.
Shelby Horton supplied 10 of the team’s 24 assists.
Every member of the team provided at least one kill in the game for a total of 27.
