on

The Bowie High School fishing team is currently sitting in fifth place in the team of the year standings.
That’s after fishing in the Lake Granbury Tournament last Saturday.
All of Bowie’s two-person fishing teams also are in the top-50 percent of the angler of the year standings.
Jeremy Stone and Kyler Ratliff are tied for first spot. Ian Ashley and Christian Sanchez also are among the top-10 in eighth.
Hadley Morgan and Lane Hopson are 76th, Blake Allen and Will Hamilton 81st and Jared Stone in 131st.
At Granbury, Jeremy Stone and Ratliff weighed two fish at 6.33 pounds. Ian Ashley reeled in one fish that weighed 4.61 pounds.
Daniel Helsey and Ethan Legare from Lovejoy won the Granbury meet, weighing five fish totaling 18.61 pounds. That was more than four pounds better than Keller’s Walker Wilson and Jackson Wilson.
Bowie will compete again on Nov. 19 at the Possum Kingdom Invitational. That meet is scheduled to take place at Brazos River Authority No. 1 Scenic Point marina.

Ian Ashley weighed one bass at 4.61 pounds during the Granbury Invitational on Oct. 15 at DeCordova Bend in Granbury. (Submitted photo)
